Rockin’ Festive Season at Hard Rock Hotel Maldives

Hard Rock Hotel Maldives rings in the New Year with all things pink for the resort’s first festive season

Hard Rock Hotel Maldives is ready to rock n’ roll this Christmas with an array of music-themed festive activities on offer throughout the holiday season. Think pink as the resort decks its halls with rose-coloured decorations, accessories and beverages, inviting guests to complement the theme and dress pretty in pink.

The festivities kick off on 22 December with an IslandFood and Wine Fun Fair, where delicacies of the world are combined with fragrant wines from the resort’s cellar to create a bountiful island feast. Guests are invited to adorn a chef’s hat and apron at Sessions and learn the tricks of the trade behind each chef’s live cooking station, featuring an assortment of exotic flavours from Indonesia to Japan, to Saudi Arabia.

On 23 December, little Rock Stars are invited to rock around the Christmas tree with the resort’s Tree Lighting Ceremony at Octagon Lawn, accompanied by delicious Christmas cookies, fruit punch and heart-warming mulled wine for adult Rockers.

On Christmas Eve, families and friends can come together to enjoy Christmas In The Sand at Sessions, a unique dining experience on the peaceful shores of Hard Rock Hotel Maldives. Here colourful and creative festive dishes will be prepared by the resort’s chefs, set against the beautiful backdrop of the Indian Ocean. On Christmas Day, jingle all the way to The Elephant and The Butterfly, where rosé and pink hats are aplenty and a pink Christmas brunch like no other awaits.

The festivities resume on 27 December with La Vie en Rosé Fridays; sip rosé, savour seafood, soak in the sunshine and dance to live music throughout the day at The Elephant and The Butterfly. On 29 December, celebrate the delights of the Indian Ocean with a Seafood Market, showcasing the finest in Indian Ocean cuisine with daily fresh catches at Sessions.

On New Year’s Eve, Hard Rock rings in the New Year with all things pink, where a sumptuous feast at Sessions tickles the tastebuds, and everything from gin, to cocktails, to champagne and beer, are all served in shades of pink. Live entertainment ensues by the beach with latino band Sugar, followed by renowned acoustic guitarist Luca Stricagnoli. The resident DJ will bid adieu to 2019, delivering top tunes into the early hours. The festivities conclude on 6 January with a Season Closing Pink Party, where ample pink drinks, festive delights and live entertainment will feature.

Just 15 minutes by speedboat from Male, Hard Rock Hotel Maldives opened on 1 September 2019 as part of CROSSROADS Maldives, the first integrated resort destination of the island nation. The resort features a collection of music-infused overwater and beachfront villas, complete with Hard Rock’s brand signature in-room amenities Rock Om®, a unique yoga experience intertwined with music, and The Sound of Your Stay®, allowing guests to enjoy in-room Crosley players or Fender guitars.

Guests can also venture to The Marina @ CROSSROADS, where resident band Sweet Nightmare will be performing classic rock at the newly-opened Hard Rock Cafe Maldives throughout the season, just a short walk via footbridge from the resort.

The new resort spreads festive cheer and rings in the New Year with exotic celebrations, live entertainment and tropical delicacies

The festive season is all around at SAii Lagoon Maldives, as the resort celebrates its first SAiisational winter with a series of fun-filled activities for guests of all ages. Decorations of blue and silver will echo throughout the resort, bringing festive cheer to the island paradise.

The festivities begin on 22 December, as young ones join the resort’s chefs to craft and decorate their very own gingerbread house at Miss Olive Oyl. The build-up to Christmas continues on 23 December, when parents, children and couples are invited to enjoy the resort’s SAiisational Tree Lighting, during which fruit punch, cookies and glühwein will be served to the sound of joyous SAiicarollers.

On Christmas Eve, little ones can make their way to Santa’s Wishing Counter at Koimala & Maalimi’s Junior Kids Club and Camp, where Santa’s helpers will be ready to make wishes come true on Christmas Day. Christmas Eve Dinner will be served at Miss Olive Oyl, where wholesome delicacies and fresh ingredients will come together to create a mouth-watering feast fusing the flavours of East and West.

On Christmas Day, wondrous surprises lie in store as Santa’s sleigh touches down on the shimmering sands of SAii Lagoon Maldives. Guests will be invited to gather around Koimala & Maalimi’s Junior Kids Club and Camp as an exciting morning filled with engaging activities and amusement awaits. At lunchtime, Miss Olive Oyl Pool will host Art Of The Party; a colourful event featuring flamboyant costumes, vibrant artworks and Mediterranean delights alongside live musical entertainment.

SAii reignites the festivities on 27 December with a Seafood Market at Miss Olive Oyl, showcasing the freshest local catches of the day. This bountiful banquet of the Indian Ocean will feature everything from yellowfin tuna to mud crab and oysters, paired with delectable Bloody Mary shooters.

On New Year’s Eve, guests can enjoy an exotic celebration at One Thousand And One Nights, an enchanted evening filled with aromatic flavours, fairy tale lighting and live entertainment. The celebrations continue after dinner in Café del Mar Maldives with a Countdown Party till late.

The season’s festivities are rounded off with One Night in Moscow on 6 January, where family and friends can enjoy a Christmas buffet fusing Eastern European and Mediterranean delights, nodding to festive Russian traditions.

S Hotels & Resorts Announces Joint Venture with a Strategic Partner to Develop an 80-key High-end Lifestyle Resort in the CROSSROADS Maldives

Mr. Dirk De Cuyper, Chief Executive Officer of S Hotels and Resorts Public Company Limited (“SHR”) revealed, “On November 14, 2019, S Hotels & Resorts entered into a Joint Venture Agreement in accordance with the investment in a high-end lifestyle resort on Island 3 of the CROSSROADS Maldives project with our strategic partner, Eco World Developer Company Limited (EWD) – a conglomerate business partner from Myanmar who invests in various business sectors including properties, mining, automotive, and food and beverage businesses. This agreement marks another remarkable milestone for the Company to explore the expansion of hospitality business in this region.

The Resort on Island 3 of the CROSSROADS project will be composed of 80 spacious villas with majority of the inventory as water villas at a price point of $900-$1,000 per night, which strengthens CROSSROADS position with a more diversified portfolio in the market. We expect to start the construction in 2020 and to commercially open by 2022. The Island 3 Resort would also enable the Company to expand our offerings to experiential travelers in the Maldives. In addition to our newly opened resorts, SAii Lagoon Maldives, Curio Collection by Hilton on Island 1 and Hard Rock Hotel Maldives on Island 2. With the advantage of prime project location, just 15minute speedboat ride from the international airport, and The Marina @ CROSSROADS providing one-of-a-kind fully integrated lifestyle tourist facility offering a luxurious 30-berth yacht marina, beach club, restaurants, retail shops, multipurpose event hall and various leisure activities; having an exceptional partner such as EWD allows the Company to be even more confident to the further realize success of CROSSROADS project after the ground-breaking CROSSROADS Maldives project and as well to successfully achieve our revenue and earning target.”

More details on the joint venture structure, i.e. shareholding percentage, construction budget, other key terms and conditions will be disclosed to investors in due course.

is Officially Launched in the Maldives

Malé, Maldives – 19 September 2019 – After two years in development, CROSSROADS, the largest integrated leisure and entertainment destination by Singha Estate Public Company Limited, Thailand’s leading real estate developer.is finally ready to open their door on its two of the nine islands.

The first island is home to the vibrant lifestyle district and heart of the megaproject, Marina @ CROSSROADS an 11,000 sqm., retail and entertainment space. Due to its proximity to the city, the attraction serves to inspire the meeting of cultures between locals and visitors, very much the same way the country had done in the past, catering to a variety of lifestyle inclinations including luxury shopping, fine dining, a state-of-the-art event hall, and PADI-certified watersports  and dive centre. A transit hotel, SAii Lagoon Maldives, a Curio Collection by Hilton, targets short-term visitors who can utilise the facilities at the town centre during their stopover for connecting flights. The sustainable development aspect of the project can be seen through the efforts made at Maldives Discovery Centre, an interactive educational-centre-cum-museum that promotes environmental conservation and Maldivian local arts and crafts. The second island is Hard Rock Hotel Maldives, developed and managed by S Hotels & Resorts. Hard Rock Hotel Maldives is also considered to be the brand’s first Maldivian outpost.
